Japanese Breast Milk Radioactive

Both radioactive Iodine and Cessium have been detected in the breast milk of Japanese mothers.

Tests have shown that human breast milk in Japan now contains radioactive Iodine 131 and Cessium 137.  Independent tests have shown radiation in half of the woman tested and levels as high as 36.3 becquerels of radioactive iodine per kilogram.  While the Japanese government claims that it has only measured 3.5 becquerels of radioactive iodine and 2.4 becquerels of radioactive cesium per kilogram.

The Japanese and other governments claim that these levels are safe while many independent experts claim that the levels pose serious health risks for children. Cessium 137 accumulates in the body and with a half life of 30 years it can take 80 years before it poses little or no risk.

Japan and the US have both raised the levels of what is considered to be safe radiation exposure to ridiculous levels in an effort to reduce panic and evade responsibility. Canada is receiving fallout from Fukushima as well but its reaction is to simply ignore the hazard and pretend that the levels measured are of no significance. Most Canadians aren't even aware that they are being exposed to fallout.

Those who are seriously interested in the actual effects of the radiation from Fukushima should read the scientific book "Chernobyl - Consequences of the Catastrophe for People and the Environment".  This book features the results of more than 1,000 scientific studies on the actual real-world impact of the radiation from Chernobyl.  It is devoid of the usual propaganda from the nuclear industry or the governments corrupted by the nuclear industry.
